PEORIA, ILL. – DeAnna Wilson tallied her second-straight double-double and her seventh double-double of the season as Illinois State Women's Basketball (17-8, 10-5 MVC), rode past Bradley (6-20, 2-13) Thursday night in Peoria.

Wilson dominated Thursday, scoring 23 points and shooting 9-for-17 (52.9%) from the field. Her 13 rebounds were a season high, which she paired with two steals and 1 assist. Wilson scored all 10 of Illinois State's fourth-quarter points as the Redbirds picked up a win.

Freshman Shannon Dowell put up a strong all-around performance, finishing one rebound shy of her second-career double-double. Dowell scored 7 of her 10 points in the second half and finished with 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Illinois State jumped out to 24-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back, shooting 6-for-10 from three in the opening quarter. The Redbirds cooled off the rest of the way, but the strong start was enough for a win.

Four different Redbirds hit a three in the opening quarter, including Kate Bullman and Abbie Aalsma who both knocked down a pair. Illinois State's first and last made baskets of the first quarter were Bullman threes. Maya Wong and Caroline Waite also connected from deep.

The Redbirds built as high as a 19-point lead in the second quarter, as Wilson scored 9 points to lead Illinois State. Her bucket down low gave Illinois State a 33-14 lead at the 6:05 mark of the quarter. The Redbirds took a 40-27 lead into the locker room.

Wilson and Dowell combined for 17 of Illinois State's 28 second-half points to lead the Redbirds and close out the win.

Wilson surpassed 800 career rebounds in Thursday's effort, which she is the 4th player in program history to do. She currently has 805 career rebounds, a mark that ranks third in program history.

Wilson also moved into second in program history for career free throws, reaching 367 for her Redbird career.

The performance was Wilson's third 20-point, 10-rebound double-double of the season and the sixth of her Illinois State career.

It also marked the third time this season Wilson has finished with a double-double in back-to-back games. She has 25th career double-double, which puts Wilson one-shy of moving into third on the program's all-time double-doubles list.

The Redbirds were 12-for-14 from the free throw line in the win (85.7%), which was the fifth time over the last six games that Illinois State has shot north of 85 percent from the free throw line.

Ten different Redbirds scored in the win, including seven who had at least four points.

Illinois State had just five turnovers, which was a season low and marked the first time this season the Redbirds have finished a single game with five or fewer turnovers. Illinois State has finished with fewer than 9 turnovers in back-to-back games.
