CHICAGO, Ill. – Illinois State dropped game two at UIC, 7-4, Saturday at Les Miller Field.
The Redbirds (25-23 overall, 13-10 MVC) recorded seven hits from seven different players as three players tallied an RBI in the loss.
UIC improves to 32-15 overall and 15-8 in the MVC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Illinois State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a solo home run by senior Auggie Rasmussen, his third long ball of the series.
UIC scored the game's next four runs with two runs in both the 1st and 3rd innings for a 4-1 lead after four innings.
The Redbirds tallied a pair of runs in the 5th off a SAC bunt from junior JT Sokolove and a balk by the UIC pitcher to trim the lead to 4-3.
Illinois State would knot the score at 4-4 in the 6th off a sacrifice fly from sophomore Shai Robinson.
The Flames scored the final three runs of the game to even the series with the 7-4 win.

Illinois State and UIC conclude the weekend with first pitch at 1:00 p.m. CT Sunday from Curtis Granderson Stadium as the game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
