Taylor, Klink Represent ISU At USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Illinois State track & field freshmen Garrett Taylor and Jacob Klink each performed well against some of the best young throwers in the country, as the duo competed at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, at the USATF U20 Championships.

Taylor was the first to compete on Wednesday night, as he took the circle for the men's discuss competition. On his third throw of the series, Taylor set a personal best with a mark of 54.27m (178-00) to finish seventh overall in the field. 

He then returned to the circle on Thursday along with Klink to compete in the men's shot put. Once again, Taylor saved his best performance of the season until the last meet as he set a new personal best with a toss of 18.01m (59-01.25) to place ninth overall. Right behind was Klink, who posted a mark of 17.60m (57-09.00) on his third and final throw of the series to place 11th in the talented field.
