Plummer Finishes Season At NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Illinois State junior Mattison Plummer made her debut on the national stage Thursday night, as she competed in the women's 3000m steeplechase at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Plummer finished seventh overall at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Arkansas to qualify for the NCAA Championship with a personal-best time of 10:11.55, moving her up the school's top 10 list to sixth best all-time. Her performance at the prestigious Drake Relays, where she took first in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 10:12.83, earned her a spot in the NCAA postseason meets after she finished on the podium and took second at the 2024 MVC Outdoor Championships in the event.

On Thursday night, Plummer ran in the second heat of the 3000m steeplechase and finished the race in a time of 10:15.78 to place 21st overall and earn Honorable Mention All-America honors.
