BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- The Illinois State men's tennis team (2-2) fell to the Ball State Cardinals (1-2) of the Mid-American Conference by a score of 4-3 on Saturday evening. The Redbirds recorded three singles victories and one doubles win.
In doubles play, Caden Scarlett and Tomas Valencia secured a 7-6 (8) win at No. 1 doubles defeating Mason Tran and Jacks Lancaster of Ball State.
 In singles play, Tomas Valencia recorded a 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-3 win over Webster at No. 1. At the No. 4 spot Jett Leong posted a 6-3, 7-6 (5) victory over Tran. The final Redbird victory was at No. 6 when newcomer Christian Capacci defeated Petrovic of the Cardinals in straight-sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2- Brady/Hayward (BSU) def. Tin Ostro/Christian Capacci (ISU) 6-7 (7)

No. 1- Tomas Valencia (ISU) def. Webster (BSU) 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-3
No. 2- Lancaster (BSU) def. Adrian Dibildox (ISU) 2-6, 1-6
No. 3- Smith (BSU) def. Tin Ostro (ISU) 3-6, 4-6
No. 4- Jett Leong (ISU) def. Tran (BSU) 6-3, 7-6 (5)
No. 5- Hayward (BSU) def. Caden Scarlett (ISU) 4-6, 3-6
No. 6- Christian Capacci (ISU) def. Petrovic (BSU) 6-2, 6-2
