CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – After playing in the qualifying rounds to open action on Thursday, the Illinois State women's team was back on the courts at the Atkins Tennis Center on Friday for main draw action in singles and doubles at the 2025 ITA Midwest Regional.
The first two rounds of doubles action started things off on Friday, with the duo of Nuria Sanz and Siliva Pomarolli defeating Aiyana Abbott and Luciana Mendoza of Marquette in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (3). They advanced to the round of 32, where they were defeated by Stefaniya Anikina and Margaux Guibal Britt of SIUE to put an end to doubles play for the Redbirds.
Main Draw Doubles Round of 16 matches will be played on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., followed by Main Draw Singles Round of 32 matches beginning at 10:30 a.m.
