NORMAL, Ill. – Coming off one of its more impressive scoring outputs of the season, Illinois State has jumped four spots to No. 13 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl. The Redbirds are one of seven Missouri Valley Football Conference teams ranked in this week's poll and are coming off an impressive 52-20 road win over Indiana State.
Illinois State was also ranked once again in this week's Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 14 to mark the Redbirds 27th straight appearance in the poll. North Dakota State remains the No. 1 team in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll with 23 first-place votes and the Redbirds are the next-highest ranked MVFC squad (13). South Dakota State (14), North Dakota (18), Youngstown State (19), South Dakota (22) and Southern Illinois (23) round out this week's MVFC representatives in the poll.
The Redbirds will travel to Brookings, South Dakota, on Saturday to take on the No. 14/15 ranked Jackrabbits (7-3, 3-3 MVFC) in a crucial league matchup with playoff aspirations on the line.
