Redbirds Jump Three Spots In Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll To No. 11

NORMAL, Ill. – Heading into the final week of the regular season, Illinois State (8-3, 5-2 MVFC) has jumped three spots to No. 11 in this week's Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll. This comes on the heels of an impressive 35-21 road win over No. 15 South Dakota State on the road last weekend, where the Redbirds scored 28 first-quarter points to come away with the win against the Jackrabbits. The Redbirds have now been ranked in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll for 28-straight weeks.

Illinois State was also ranked once again in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, coming in at a tie for No. 11 with Monmouth (N.J.). The Redbirds are one of seven teams ranked in this week's Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll from the Missouri Valley Football Conference, with North Dakota State earning all 56 first-place votes to come in at the No. 1 spot once against. Illinois State (11), North Dakota (13), South Dakota (16), Youngstown State (18), South Dakota State (22) and Southern Illinois (24). ISU has wins over two of those squads in South Dakota and South Dakota State and will be vying for a third when they host Southern Illinois this weekend.

The Redbirds will host the Salukis (6-5, 3-4 MVFC) on Senior Day at Jay and Lori Bergman Field at Hancock Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff set for 12 p.m.
