NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State swim and dive closed out the Miami Invitational on Saturday afternoon from the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
The Redbirds capped off the event with Illinois State's 'A' squad recording the third fastest time in program history with a mark of 3:23.27. The team of Kieffel, Luker, Turken, and Snow notched a sixth-place finish in the event.
Sophomore Hailey Fris opened the day for Illinois State, earning a top-10 time in program history with a mark of 2:00.71 in the 200 Y Back Prelims. Fris followed up her prelim effort with a 15th-place finish in the 200 Y Back Finals, the highest of all Redbirds.
In the 100 Y Free Finals, Senior Mia Snow earned a season-best time of 50.11 on her path to a fifth-place finish. Senior Ella Turken recorded a new personal best time of 50.53; her mark remains the fifth-fastest time in school history.
Senior Giulia Basco earned a season-best mark in the 200 Y Fly with a time of 2:04.26. Basco tallied a 10th-place finish, which was the highest of all Redbirds in the event.
