ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Illinois State junior TJ Barger has been named the MVC Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
The award is his third of the season, also winning the award on September 5 and October 3.
At the Border Olympics he had rounds of 74, 74, and 72 on the par-71 course, and he tied for 27th in the strong field in the tournament, as the Redbirds tied for 14th as a team.
Barger leads the team in scoring average on the season, at 73.4 strokes per round, as five of his rounds have been at or under par this season.
The Redbirds are quickly back in action on Sunday, February 23 at the Dorado Beach Collegiate, hosted in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
