Track & Field Wraps Up Redbird Tune-Up Friday Evening

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Track & Field program closed out the indoor regular season Friday evening with the Redbird Tune-Up at Horton Field House.

Sophomore Garrett Taylor capped off the night with a throw of 17.34m (56-10.75) in the men's shot put. Taylor now sits eighth all-time in program history with his mark.

Senior Windsor Roberts broke her own Horton Field House facility record with a season-best jump of 3.92m (12-10.25). Junior Isabelle Hemmen and Freshman Aubrey Griffin also recorded a season-best mark with jumps of 3.67m (12-0.5) and 3.52m (11-6.5) to notch a 1-2-3 finish for the Redbirds in the women's pole vault.

On the men's side, Junior Charles Cruse cleared the bar at 4.85m (15-11) to record a victory. Senior Ariel Atias tallied a season-best jump with a clearance of 4.70m (15-5) to finish runner-up.

In the women's 60m dash, Sophomore Chavi Flowers recorded a time of 7.66 to secure the event win.

Senior Kevyere Mack capped off a Redbirds 1-2-3 finish after running a time of 8.29 in the men's 60m hurdles.

Senior Michael Marrs won the men's 200m dash with a mark of 22.80. On the women's side Kristyn Johnson secured the win with a personal best time of 25.65.

Junior Nnenna Okpara tallied a victory in the women's 400m with a time of 59.09.

Sophomore Trixie Johnson claimed the win in the women's 800m after running a mark of 2:20.28.

The Redbirds swept the mile as Seniors Ian Geisler and Viviana Sanfilippo each won the event. Geisler ran a time of 4:18.52 and Sanfilippo recorded a mark of 5:05.51.

The freshman pairing of Trey Thomas and Sydney Skarich swept the high jump events. Thomas matched a season-best mark clearing the bar at 2.00m (6-6.75) as Skarich recorded a clearance at 1.59m (5-2.5).

Illinois State swept the triple jump events as Freshman Zion Russell and Sophomore Alice Sotelo claimed victory. Russell recorded a jump of 14.00m (45-11.25) , a personal best mark. Sotelo notched a mark of 11.24 (36-10.5).

Sophomore Megan Clark tallied a season-best to claim the win in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.55m (18-2.50)

Freshman Chidiogo Odeluga recorded a personal best throw of 13.14m (43-1.5) in the women's shot put for a fourth-place finish.
