NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In the second game of their weekend series against Belmont, Illinois State baseball team fell to the Bruins, 11-6, on Saturday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park.
Illinois State (7-13 overall, 1-1 MVC) totaled seven hits and stranded seven runners on the afternoon.
Belmont (9-15 overall, 1-1 MVC) recorded 13 hits, including three home runs.

Scoring Breakdown:
- The Redbirds got on the scoreboard first thanks to an RBI single by Daniel Contreras in the top of the 2nd
- Josh Outlaw would plate the next Redbird off an error by the Bruin shortstop for a 2-0 Redbird lead.
- Luke Stulga tallied an RBI single to finish a four-run second inning for the Birds as Illinois State led 4-0 after the top of the 2nd
- The Bruins scored the game's next 10 runs with two in the 2nd, three in the 3rd, 4 in the 4th, and one in the 5th.
- The Redbirds got two runs in the top of the 7th with a solo shot from Daniel Pacella and RBI double from Graham Mastros
- Belmont responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th to make the score, 11-6.
