NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State baseball team dropped a 8-3 decision to UIC behind seven strong innings from the Flame's Dillon Schueler Friday evening at Duffy Bass Field.
Illinois State (22-25 overall, 11-11 Missouri Valley Conference) was led by two hits by senior Noah Smith.
UIC improves to 17-29 overall, 13-9 MVC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A two-run double in the opening frame powered UIC to a 2-0 lead, which ballooned to 6-0 through three innings.
UIC scored twice in the 8th inning to push the lead to 8-0.
The Redbirds cracked the scoreboard in the 9th with an RBI double by Smith, sac fly from Daniel Contreras, and RBI single from Josh Outlaw.
