Robinson Selected By Minnesota Twins In 2025 MLB Draft

Minneapolis, Minn. – Illinois State baseball's Shai Robinson was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 10th round and 299th overall. Marking the first Redbird to be selected in the 2025 MLB Draft. 

Robinson becomes the 13th player selected in the MLB Draft under sixth-year head coach Steve Holm. Robinson's selection ranks as the fourth-highest for a Redbird during Coach Holm's tenure. Robinson also becomes the fourth Redbird and the first since Brent Headrick in 2019 to be selected by the Minnesota Twins. 

In 2025, Robinson made a career-high 54 starts at shortstop for the Redbirds. The Illinois State middle-infielder had a career year at the plate, amassing career-best marks in home runs (10), RBIs (45), walks (48), and OPS (.869).
