NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swim and dive program wrapped up action from Horton Pool Friday evening on Day One of its dual meet with Missouri Valley Conference opponent UNI.
After Day One, the Redbirds trail the Panthers by a score of 95-72.
Illinois State secured three Horton Pool facility records and three event wins Friday evening in its return to action for the first time since late November.
The 400 Y Medley Relay team of Tyler, Fris, Snow, and Turken kicked off Friday's meet, capturing the event win and a new Horton Pool facility record with a time of 3:48.64.
Moments later, Senior Giulia Basco secured the Horton Pool facility record with a mark of 2:04.10 in the 200 Y Fly. Basco's time is a new personal best and the eighth fastest time in program history. Sophomore Avery Watson added a runner-up time of 2:06.50, a new personal best mark.
Senior Delaney Boulden added another Horton Pool facility record in the 100 Y Back with a time of 56.00. Boulden's mark sets a new personal best mark for the Lee's Summit, Mo. native, and moves her to fourth all-time in program history.
Senior Selena Corona earned a personal best mark of 239.5 in the 3M Dive (6 Dives).
UP NEXT
Action from Horton Pool will resume on Saturday, Jan. 17, with the 1M Dive set to begin at 9 a.m., and all swim events will continue at 11 a.m.
