NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swim and dive program closed out its final meet at Horton Pool, securing a 155-74 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
Across 14 events on Saturday, the Redbirds claimed 13 event wins to secure their second dual meet victory of the season.
The Redbirds opened the meet capturing a new Horton Pool facility record in the 200 Y Medley Relay. Illinois State's 'A' squad of Boulden, Fris, Snow, and Turken tallied a time of 1:42.97 to earn the pool record.
Sophomore Amelia Murphy secured the event win for the Redbirds with a mark of 1:53.16 in the 200 Y Free, to record Illinois State's second event win of the day. Murphy tallied her second event win of the meet later in the 500 Y Free with a mark of 5:12.55.
Senior Delaney Boulden earned the Redbirds third event win of the day in the 100 Y Back with a time of 55.91. The mark sets a new Horton Pool facility record and moves Boulden to third all-time in the event.
Freshman Ava Ostendorf recorded Illinois State's fourth event victory of the day after tallying a mark of 1:05.11 in the 100 Y Breast. Ostendorft added another event win later in the meet with a victory in the 200 Y Breast with a mark of 2:19.61.
Senior Giulia Basco added the Redbirds fifth event win of the meet after recording a time of 2:03.16 in the 200 Y Fly. The mark captures a new Horton Pool facility record for the event. Basco closed out her last appearance at Horton Pool adding another event win with a time of 56.86 in the 100 Fly
Senior Mia Snow added another Horton Pool facility record and another event win for the Redbirds with a time of 23.40 in the 50 Y Free. Snow added the Redbirds seventh win on the day with another victory in the 100 Y Free with a time of 51.19
Senior Chloe Tyler tallied another event win for Illinois State and eight on the day with a time of 2:03.75 in the 200 Y Back.
Junior Sylvia Admire secured the Redbirds 12th event win of the day with a time of 200 Y IM with a mark of 2:09.00, a new personal best.
The Redbirds 'A' 200 Y Free Relay team of Davis, Tyler, Turken, and Snow secured the Redbirds 13th victory with a mark of 1:34.56 to close out the meet.

The Redbirds' divers will head up north to Chicago, Ill. for the UIC Diving Invite on Feb. 7. Action from Flames Natatorium is set to begin at 11 a.m.
