NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Show, presented by The O'Brien Auto Team, will exclusively feature women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie and special guest Addison Martin live tonight live from Jesse's Grille inside the Marriott in Uptown Normal from 6-7 p.m.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's show live from Jesse's Grille inside the Marriott, located at 201 Broadway in Normal. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and on the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page.
Host Greg Halbleib will begin the show with Gillespie talking about the regular season ending and her team's No. 3 seed in the upcoming Credit Union 1 MVC Women's Basketball Tournament at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa. Later in the show, senior forward Addison Martin will join the crew to talk about her senior season and the team's preparations for the postseason.
Illinois State heads into the show after a thrilling 66-65 road win on the road at Bradley on Sunday, which gave the Redbirds the No. 3 seed in the MVC tournament. The Redbirds will play the winner of the opening-round matchup between Drake and Valparaiso in the quarterfinals on Friday, with tipoff set for 8:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 13.
Martin, a redshirt senior from Shreveport, Louisiana, ranked second on the team in scoring (12.5 ppg), rebounding (5.7 rpg) and assists (91) in her final season with the Redbirds. She scored in double figures in 14 straight games to start the year and has done so in 24 of the Birds' 31 contests during the 2025-26 campaign. Martin has recorded three double-doubles this season, with her most recent coming against Murray State (13 points, 10 rebounds), and currently ranks second in the Missouri Valley Conference in minutes played per contest at 35.3.
