Men's Golf Opens Third Regional Appearance in the Last Four Years on Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the third time in the last four seasons, the Illinois State men's golf team heads to an NCAA Regional, this season at the NCAA Columbus Regional hosted at the Ohio State University Golf Course.

ISU History at the Event

After winning the title last season - ISU's seventh - the Redbirds have won two more Championships than any of the other schools in the field. ISU's 281 in 2007 is tied for the fourth-lowest in MVC history for a par-70 course, while the team's 276 in 2023 is the lowest round ever recorded at a Championship. In 2023 ISU's 836 is the second-lowest tournament score in conference history, while Felix van Dijk's 65 in 2023 is tied for the second-lowest individual round in tournament history.

About the Course

Located in central Columbus, The Ohio State University Golf Club is rated as one of the top collegiate courses in the nation by Golf Channel. Being called home to the University's men and women's golf teams, The Ohio State University Golf Club hosts numerous events such as the Kepler, Lady Buckeye, AJGA, most notably, the Korn Ferry Tour's Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. The Ohio State University Golf Club has two 18-hole courses; the ever popular Gray course and the renowned Scarlet course, which was recently renovated by Jack Nicklaus in 2006. We are a semi-private club exclusively for those with an Ohio State University affiliation.
