Women’s Golf Adds Claudia Weston for 2026-27

NORMAL, Ill. –Illinois State head women's golf coach Jackie Szymoniak has announced the addition of Claudia Weston for the ISU golf team starting with the 2026-27 season.

"I'm excited to welcome Claudia Weston to the Redbird Family! Claudia is fundamentally sound and has showcased her ability with strong finishes throughout her junior career," said Szymoniak. "She has excelled as a student and an athlete, and her drive, work ethic and high standard will fit perfectly with the vision of our program. Claudia's game has evolved greatly over the past year, and I am confident that the best golf lies ahead for her. She is ready to embrace this opportunity as we continue to elevate Redbird Golf!"

Weston, a native of Buckinghamshire, England, attended Dr. Challoner's High School. She was the winner of the Karl Sargeant Trophy, and the winner of the GX Junior Open Girls Scratch. She won back-to-back titles at the Bucks Schools's Golf Scratch Tournament, was the England Midland South Junior Team Champion, a two-time winner of the Bucks, Berks, Oxfordshire County Scratch Order of Merrit, and was a top-15 finisher at the Junior European Open.

Weston joins Cynthia Lang, Hazel Gao, Cora Hirz, and Minnie Laparojkit as newcomers to the Redbird team for the 2026-27 season.
