EUGENE, Ore. – Illinois State's Pauline Schedler will compete in the World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26 from August 5-9. The five-day event will take place at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, marking the first time since 2014 the university has hosted this global event.
Schedler will represent Austria in the 1500-meter event, beginning with the first round at 9:05 p.m. CT on Thursday. If she advances, the final is scheduled for approximately 3:52 p.m. CT on Sunday.
The rising sophomore participated in the 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships last August, placing ninth in the 1500-meter final with a time of 4:21.25.
During her freshman season as a Redbird, Schedler collected a personal-best time of 4:14.18 in the 1500-meter preliminary round at the NCAA Division I West First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She gathered two top-10 finishes in the 1500-meter run during the outdoor season, including a third-place time of 4:21.03 at the 2026 MVC Outdoor Championships (May 16-17). Additionally, she earned Women's MVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors on January 21, following her first-place performance in the 1000-meter run at the Coughlan-Malloy Cup with a time of 2:50.77, helping the Redbirds reclaim the event title.
