NORMAL, Ill. – It was an eventful season opener for the Redbirds, who scored the second-most points in program history in a 76-0 defeat over St. Francis last Saturday at Hancock Stadium. The Redbirds will look to maintain that momentum this Saturday, when they travel to Macomb to take on longtime rival Western Illinois. ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview the upcoming matchup with Leathernecks at Schooners on Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Brock Spack Show, presented by Robert Redding Menswear.
Coach Spack will chat with Redbird football play-by-play voice John Fitzgerald and longtime color analyst Ted Schmitz about what he saw from his team in the opener, and he will preview the upcoming matchup with Western Illinois. This week, they will be joined by running back and former Leatherneck Seth Glatz and Offensive Quality Control/Assistant Offensive Recruiting Coordinator Zach Bodway as special guests.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com and The Varsity Network. Portions of the show will also be broadcast live on the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page.
