MADISON, Wis. – Behind a one-under-par second round, the Illinois State men's golf team climbed three spots after the second day of the 2026 Badger Invitational.
Max Faucquez and Fernando Cobo Delgado each carded a one-under 71, with Faucquez sitting at even par for the tournament and is tied for 26th.
Southern Miss, behind a 36-hole score of 564, leads the field, with Western Kentucky (566), South Dakota State (566), Northern Illinois (567), and St. Thomas (568) round out the top five. Wisconsin (569), Green Bay (572), North Dakota (578), South Dakota (580), Western Carolina (581), Omaha (581), and Ohio (583) are all within striking distance of Illinois State's 589. North Dakota State (587), Southern Illinois (588), Drake (590), Appalachian State (592), Valparaiso (606), and Oakland (611) round out the 19 schools in the tournament field.
Faucquez had four birdies and 11 pars for his 71, while Cobo Delgado had three birdies and 13 pars for his one-under second round, as Cobo Delgado is tied for 33rd overall with a one-over 145 through two rounds. Through 36 holes, Faucquez' 2.80 average score on par-3's is tied for the best in the tournament field.
Gonzalo Cuellar had four birdies and 11 pars for an even-par 72 and has 146 (+2) through two rounds. Sam Ottwell's one-over 73 consisted of five birdies and nine pars, while his 36-hole score of 151 is tied for 74th. Gabrielle Bravin was ISU's fifth golfer in the round and had a five-over 77 using a birdie and 10 pars and has a 158 through two rounds.
Finishing across town at the Goat Hill Individual, the final round of the individual tournament saw Rayden Tee card his second consecutive even-par score, and with a 218 he tied for 15th as he had two birdies and 14 pars. Aiden Cudney shot a 75, giving him a 221 for the tournament, using two birdies and nine pars to tie for 20th in the field. Beau Eftink shot a final-round 77, opening his day with back-to-back birdies and added eight pars over the final 16 holes for a tournament score of 234, and in 28th place.
The Redbirds close play at the Badger Invitational on Tuesday morning alongside North Dakota State and Southern Illinois.
