Mariah Cook joined the Illinois State athletics department during the summer of 2021 as a graduate assistant for athletic performance.

Cook will oversee and implement all aspects of student-athlete athletic development and performance for women's tennis, swimming & diving and the track and field high jump and multis groups. Along with these, she will assist other programs, including men's and women's basketball, volleyball and soccer.

While at Illinois State, Cook will be pursuing a master's degree in Exercise Physiology and a graduate certificate in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Prior to ISU, she served as an intern at North Dakota State where she worked with the women's basketball, baseball, volleyball and track and field programs. 

Before joining NDSU's strength staff, Cook played basketball at Saginaw Valley State, where she also earned her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, becoming a certified athletic trainer in 2020.
