Members of the Illinois State track and field teams competed in the Titan Open Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan's Shirk Center in a non-team scored meet.
Athletes from the women's team that competed included Kim Fargher (400 meters/1:01.49), Lindsey Meyers (400 meters/1:02.78), Leah Smith (1,500 meters/4:53.10), Lindsey Carpenter (1,500 meters/5:08), Amy Dian (800 meters/2:26.30), Melanie Zimmerman (long jump/5.17 and triple jump/11.47), Deneisha Norman (triple jump/10.73), Margie Boyd (weight throw/12.66), Ashley Minner (shot put/12.58), Taylor Carbaugh (shot put/12.89) and Latisha Johnson (shot put/13.67).
On the men's side, Corey Carmichael ran the 400-meter dash in 53.28. Other notable performances include Greg Baker and Nate Swartzendruber in the 1,500 meters with times of 4:09 and 4:10 respectively, Andrew Joshua (200-meter dash/23.22), Brian Willey (high jump/1.83), Mark Jackson (weight throw/15.18 and shot put/12.61), Joe Drevlow (weight throw/17.03), Rhett Hillard (shot put/16.00) and Noah Washington (shot put/14.01).
