NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State football team hits the road for the final time in the 2009 season this weekend when it head to Ohio to square off against Youngstown State. Head coach Brock Spack will preview the upcoming game with the Penguins and will recap last Saturday's home win over in-state rival Western Illinois at The Brock Spack Show live from Schooner's at 6 p.m.
Co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz will interact with Spack during the hour-long show and will also talk with sophomore running back Cliffton Gordon. Gordon was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 19 after racking up 96 yards and four rushing touchdowns in a win over Austin Peay. In the last two games, the Chicago Heights, Ill., native has rushed for 122 and 106 yards, respectively, in wins at Missouri State (Oct. 31) and against the Leathernecks (Nov. 7). Gordon leads the Redbirds on the season with 115 carries for 472 yards and six touchdowns and has added another score through the air for a team-leading seven touchdowns scored.
