NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State football head coach Brock Spack will give his insights on his team's upcoming Homecoming game against No. 14 North Dakota State and will recap last week's tough loss at Indiana on Tuesday at noon his weekly press conference at the Kaufman Football Building.
The Redbirds have dropped their last two contests in Missouri Valley Conference play and will be looking to pick up a big win this weekend on Homecoming against the Bison. Last season, the Redbirds scored a touchdown with 1:24 left in the game to take a 27-24 lead at the Fargo Dome and held on for their first victory in three tries against NDSU.
Coach Spack will be joined at the weekly luncheon by senior defensive tackle Mike Piton and sophomore quarterback Matt Lancaster. Piton missed a pair of games due to a knee injury, but has returned to start the last two games on the defensive line for the Redbirds. Piton has recorded 11 tackles on the season, with four solo tackles, and blocked an extra point attempt last week at Indiana State.
Lancaster played in five games last season and led the team on its magical drive in the season finale that gave ISU a 22-20 win over No. 9 Northern Iowa. This season, Lancaster has played in every game and has been utilized on special teams, at quarterback and as a wide receiver for the Redbirds.
