NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State football head coach Brock Spack will preview the historic 100th meeting between ISU and Eastern Illinois and give insight on the 2011 season opener against the Panthers on the Brock Spack Show, live from Schooners Monday night at 6 p.m.
Illinois State and Eastern will square off in the historic 100th meeting in the storied 110-year football rivalry between the two schools Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., at O'Brien Field in Charleston, Ill. The two teams will meet once again in the newly-renamed Mid-America Classic, with the winner taking home the new travelling trophy unveiled earlier this summer.
Co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz will interact with coach Spack during the hour-long show. Coach Spack will be joined on the broadcast by his first player-guest of the year, senior offensive lineman Keenan Wimbley.
Wimbley started all 11 games at right guard for the Redbirds in 2010 and helped bolster an offensive line that helped ISU post 4,279 yards on the season, the eighth-best single-season mark in school history. The Orlando, Fla., native was a key component of the offensive unit that was the second-best passing offense in the conference and helped Ashton Leggett and Erik Smith each rush for over 100 yards and ISU post a season-high 287 yards rushing in a Homecoming victory against No. 14 North Dakota State.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove and Clinton Streets. If you can't make it out to Schooners, the show will be broadcast on WJBC AM-1230 and 93.7 FM in the Twin Cities and on GoRedbirds.com.
