ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Illinois State men's tennis team fell short of reaching the doubles bracket quarterfinals at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships Saturday afternoon.
Senior Muddappa Appanervanda and junior Rodrigo Oliveira lost their match to DePaul's Alex Galoustian and Nathan de Veer, 8-6. Juniors Jakub Eisner and Rolando Torrellas also suffered a loss Saturday, falling to VukasinTeofanovic and Nick Dykema of Marquette, 8-5.
Senior Jacob Wilson and sophomore Urh Krajnc Domiter also played today in consolation singles matches, but both suffered defeats. Wilson was edged by Fedor Baeu of Northwestern, 6-3, 4-6, 12-10, and Krajnc Domiter lost to Wisconsin's Johnny Jalalov, 6-3, 1-6, 11-9.

The ITA Midwest Regional Championships mark the end of the fall season for the men's tennis team after the Bulldog Jamboree scheduled for Oct. 31 - Nov. 2 at Drake was canceled.
