The Brock Spack Show Airs Live Thursday From Schooners

NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 7 ranked Illinois State football team bounced back after its first loss of the season and defeated then No. 10 ranked Youngstown State team by a score of 35-21 last weekend.  ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about his team's big win over the Penguins and preview this week's contest at South Dakota Thursday on The Brock Spack Show, which airs live from Schooners on WJBC 1230 AM, beginning at 6 p.m.

The Redbirds (8-1, 5-1 MVFC) picked up their fourth win over a Top-25 ranked opponent with the victory over YSU and flew back into the Top 10 of both national Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) polls.  The Redbirds advanced five spots to No. 7 in the FCS Coaches Poll and moved up four spots to No. 8 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 and have been ranked for nine-consecutive weeks.

The Coyotes have lost six-straight games since starting conference play, including a 44-29 loss last weekend to Western Illinois in Vermillion. WIU quarterback Trenton Norvell threw touchdown passes to five different receivers in leading the Fighting Leathernecks to the victory over the Coyotes.  A win Saturday against the Redbirds would be the Coyotes' first November win since 2011, when the team earned a 48-14 victory against Missouri S&T in Vermillion.

Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz, and will be joined by senior offensive lineman Rocco Ammons as this week's player guest.  Ammons is a four-year starter on the offensive line and has been instrumental in running back Marshaun Coprich's success this season.  Coprich has rushed for over 100 yards in every game to start the season, setting a school record, and has rushed for over 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns behind his offensive line.  Earlier in the season, Ammons was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, when he graded out at 96 percent and did not allow a sack or any quarterback pressures in a win against Austin Peay.

Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove and Clinton Streets. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com.
