NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Illinois State men's tennis team's fall season came to an end Saturday as Christoffer Greve and Dylan Steffens dropped a close doubles match at the ITA Midwest Regionals hosted by Notre Dame.
Greve and Steffens lost in the second round of the doubles main draw to Nicolas Montoya and Eric Schnurrenberger of Notre Dame 8-6.
"Our tournament came to an end today as we lost the last doubles team we had alive in the draw," said head coach Mark Klysner. "Chris and Dylan definitely had chances today against a tough Notre Dame team and lost 8-6. Looking back at the week, I am very proud of the guys and how they played. I think each guy here got a lot of experience and really will be better off from the opportunity to have played some of the best players in our region."
The men's tennis team has now concluded play for the fall season. ISU will being its spring season with a Jan. 22 home match against Wright State.
