NORMAL, Ill. – Matthew Jennings has been added to the Illinois State athletics department staff as the Director of Compliance, as announced by Cindy Harris, senior associate athletics director for compliance and student services Friday. Jennings comes to ISU from Chicago State, where he was the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
"Matt's broad range of skills and experience gained at both DePaul and Chicago State will serve us well here at Illinois State," said Harris. "He has maintained all day-to-day compliance operations at Chicago State so he will certainly be ready to take on his share of the workload within our Compliance & Student Services unit. We were particularly impressed with Matt's commitment to excellence and willingness to work as a team."
At Chicago State, Jennings served as the compliance coordinator for a year before entering his current role of assistant athletic director for compliance. Jennings currently oversees all areas of compliance for 15 Division I sports and serves as the sports administrator for men's and women's cross country. Jennings drafts and files all forms of waivers, reinstatements, violations and annual NCAA reports.

Jennings completed his undergraduate degree at Illinois in 2010, graduating with a bachelor degree in sports management. Jennings has been involved in collegiate athletics for three years, after serving as an intern in the DePaul Athletics Department compliance office for two years before moving to Chicago State.
