Havens finished the final round with a 2-over-par 72 (36-36), Perkins shot an 8-over-par 78 (39-39), and Marrs carded a 1-over-par 71 (38-33), including an eagle and two birdies.
"Our final round was not indicative of our play this fall, and as competitors, we are disappointed to not hold our spot in the field," head coach Ray Kralis said. "Give credit to UTEP and Notre Dame for the way they played with the tournament on the line. Both Trent (Wallace) and Christian (Crabilll) had strong tournaments with fourth and ninth-place finishes. Overall though, our play was clearly elevated this fall over previous seasons, and we had ourselves right in the hunt in three of our four events. Those experiences have helped us grow and become more comfortable. We will be stronger in the spring season because of that."
This tournament concluded the Redbirds' fall season, as they will not resume play until Jan. 28, 2017, at the Tinervin Cup against Illinois in Placida, Florida, at the Coral Creek Club. Â Â
