NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State football team will look to get back to its winning ways Saturday, when the Redbirds travel to Fargo, North Dakota, to face No. 1 North Dakota State. ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about this week's game against the top-ranked Bison on The Brock Spack Show LIVE from Schooners Thursday night from 6-7 p.m.
The Redbirds (2-2, 0-1 MVFC) dropped another close decision to Indiana State last week on the road and will look to snap a two-game skid at the Fargodome against the Bison (3-0, 0-0 MVFC) on Saturday. The two teams have not met in the regular season since 2013, when the Bison defeated the Redbirds by a score of 28-10. Both teams have wins over Big Ten Conference teams this season, with the Redbirds winning at Northwestern and the Bison picking up a win at Iowa during the nonconference portion of the season.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz, and he will welcome senior punter Reece Attard as this week's player guest. The Australia native has been a weapon for the Redbirds on special teams and currently ranks in the Top 25 nationally in punting, with an average of 41.9 yards per punt. The two-year starter has placed 20 punts inside the 20-yard line, with three punts of over 50 yards including a season-best effort of 57 yards.
