DAYTON, Ohio. – The Illinois State men's tennis team earned a 4-0 sweep over Wright State Saturday at theSouth Regency Tennis Center, improving the squad's record to 4-3.
"I'm happy with the outcome tonight," said head coach Mark Klysner. "We've gone through a lot of illness this week on the team, and some of the guys were struggling with injuries, so much credit to the boys for pulling out a 4-0 win over a good Wright State squad."
Illinois State claimed the doubles point, as Egehan Sertkaya and Dylan Steffens defeated Jacob Perkins and Carlos Estrada Sanchez, 6-3. The doubles team of Matias Chomali and Peter Foersom won by default. Andreas Boers and Urh Krajnc Domiter were defeated by Fernando Nardelli and Javier Alvarez de la Villa, 6-3.
In singles play, Boers defeated Javier Alvarez de la Villa, 6-2, 6-0. Sertkaya defeated Carlos Estrada Sanchez, 6-2, 6-2, and Foersom won by default.
