NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State men's tennis team (0-2) returns home to host Toledo (1-3) and Illinois Springfield (4-1) Friday, Feb. 2 at the Bloomington Tennis Center. Admission to all home matches is free.
The double header will feature a match against Toledo at 1 p.m. followed by play against Illinois Springfield at 6 p.m. The Redbirds look to earn their first win of the dual season after suffering two losses against Butler and Western Michigan.
Against Butler, The Redbirds took two of three doubles matches with wins coming from the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Christoffer Greve earned the sole singles win in the No. 1 spot.
Illinois State made a comeback against Western Michigan, but ultimately fell short. Western Michigan picked up the doubles point by taking flight one and three wins. The Broncos earned the first singles win, but the Redbirds came back by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 spots behind Igor Kolaric and Andreas Boers. Western Michigan topped Illinois State in the next two matches for the 5-2 margin.
The Redbirds will be back in action Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 to host Wright State and Belmont at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
