NORMAL, Ill. – Freshman Tara Damjanovic and Junior Natalia Bravo travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to participate in the ITA Midwest Regional on Thursday, Oct. 18.
Bravo will take on an MVC opponent at 8 a.m. against Valparaiso's Jelena Vujanic. Vujanic took home first place in the first flight of the MVC Individual Championships two weeks ago. Bravo comes into this tournament 1-4 overall for the fall season.
Damnjanovic will play at 9 a.m. against Maryann Rompf from Wisconsin. Rompf is in her second season with the Badgers and finished last season with an 11-22 overall record. Damnjanovic will enter the tournament with a 4-2 record. Damnjanovic is coming off her third place win in flight 1 of the MVC Individual Championships.
Both Damnjanovic and Bravo also competed together in doubles this season, going 3-3 and taking fifth place in the MVC Individual Championships.
"The midwest region is loaded with strong teams so this will be a great opportunity for Tara and Natalia to really challenge themselves," said Coach Maja Kovacek. "I'm really excited to see them compete tomorrow."
There will be a live video stream for all of the matches. There will only be consolation matches if the weather permits.
