COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Redbirds played round two of the par-72, Johnie Imes Invitational, following a season-best score in round one. The two-round team score is now 598 (297-301).
ISU is tied for eighth place with Northern Illinois. Missouri continues to lead the 13-team field at 12 strokes under-par while FGCU trails six strokes behind.
Junior Paige Seiser played an even round (36-36), at the par-72 golf course, to tie her career-best single-round score. Seiser completed three birdies this round, putting her two-round score at 146 (74-72).
Becca Black kept her momentum from the first round to play another 1-over-par round (37-36) with an eagle on hole nine and a birdie on the 17th hole. Black's two-round score is 146 (73-73), putting her and Seiser in an 18th place tie with three other golfers.
Senior Caitlin Sims carded a 3-over-par 75 to bring her two-round score to 152 (77-75). Sims had two birdies on each side, climbing to a seven-way tie for 46th.
Morgan Savage went 9-over-par in the front nine and even on the back nine, earning her a two-round score of 154 (73-81). The junior sunk three birdies over the round to end in 55th after day two. Sophomore Tatum King played a 12-over-par 84 (41-42) in the second round. Her two-round score going into the final round is 170 (86-84).
Next Time Out: The Redbirds return to action tomorrow at 8 a.m. in the third and final round of the Johnie Imes Invitational.
