Women’s Basketball Adds Three on National Signing Day

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball program received National Letters of Intent from three high school seniors Wednesday.

The class includes: Cameron Call (Mt. Vernon, Mo. /Mt. Vernon HS), Hannah Kelle (Lincoln, Neb. /Lincoln Southwest HS) and McKenna Sims (South Sioux City, Neb. / South Sioux City HS)

"We are so excited about our 2019 recruiting class," said head coach Kristen Gillespie. "Our staff has worked diligently to add three outstanding young women to our program.  Each one fills a need and adds depth to our team. They are players who excel in the classroom, on the court and will be phenomenal ambassadors for our university."

  • 1st Team All-State
  • Three-time 1st Team All-Conference
  • Three-time 1st Team All-District
  • Conference Player of the Year
  • 1st Team All-Area 4 States Basketball Coaches Association
  • Holds 3-point career record for Mt. Vernon High School with 210- set the new record during her junior season
  • Broke single season 3-point record with 91

Academic Honors

  • A-Honor Roll
  • Lettered in academics all three years

Gillespie on Call: "Cameron is a fierce competitor who will bring a tremendous amount of toughness and leadership to our team. Cam is a gifted scorer who can really stretch the floor with her shooting ability and is fearless attacking the basket."

  • Broke soccer school record for most goals in a season with nine and tied school record for goals in a game with three
  • Holds school volleyball record for kill percentage in a season
