NORMAL, Ill. – Doubles duo Veronika Golanova and Jelena Karla Vujicic were chosen as the Missouri Valley Conference doubles team of the week, announced the conference Tuesday.
The Redbirds swept Chicago State and Iowa State this weekend and so did the one doubles tandem. The duo led the way for ISU, winning the first doubles matches against Chicago State's Kostyuk and Gamboa, 6-2 and Iowa State's Canini and Espinodla, 6-4.
This doubles team has repeatedly proven their worth after the conclusion of their 2017 fall season, claiming the MVC Individual Championship one doubles first-place title and finishing the fall season, 5-1.
Golanova and Vujicic have continued to prove they are a duo not to be reckoned with, as they continue their 2018 dual season, 3-1.
