NORMAL, Ill. – Junior forward Simone Goods earned Newcomer of the Week honors for the third time this season after pacing the Redbirds to a 53-41 victory over the Bradley Braves. Goods led all scorers with 25 points, grabbed six boards and rejected two shots. This was also the sixth time she tallied 20 or more points in a game.
With this week's award, Goods becomes the third MVC player this season to earn a league-high four weekly honors, joining Evansville's Hannah Noe and Southern Illinois' Abby Brockmeyer. The last Illinois State player to earn four or more weekly honors was Janae Smith in the 2012-13 season.
