Farley-Sepe Joins Redbird Swimming & Diving Program

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head coach Scott Cameron announced the addition of former Kentucky swimmer Kierston Farley-Sepe to his team's roster for the 2018-19 season. Farley-Sepe will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Redbirds.

"We are absolutely thrilled to add Kierston to our team," Cameron said. "She brings SEC experience to our team and will have a huge impact in not only her individual events at the MVC Meet, but on our relays as well.  Her top times in the 200 & 400 IM and the 200 fly would have been the top times in the MVC this past year, so we can't wait to begin working with Kierston and are excited to have her join the Redbird family."

The Hales Corners, Wisconsin, native competed for the Wildcats in both the 200 fly and 200 IM at the SEC Championships last season and finished 31st in the 200 fly at the conference meet in a time of 2:00.24. She posted season-best times in the 200 fly (1:59.71) and 200 IM (2:00.67) at the Ohio State Last Chance meet and was named to SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

As a freshman during the 2016-17 season, Farley-Sepe scored points for the Wildcats in three separate events at the SEC Championships. Her top finish at the conference meet came in the 200 fly, placing 17th with a personal best time of 1:57.35, and also made the C Final in the 200 IM (20th, 1:59.11) and 400 IM (19th, 4:12.74).

During her prep career, she was WIAA State Champion in the 200 IM in 2014 and was the National Public School record-holder in the 400 free relay in which she anchored. She held multiple records held in her home state of Wisconsin was a back-to-back Wisconsin club state champion in the 200 IM and the 100 free with the Southwest Aquatic Team.

The Redbirds will host their annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at Horton Pool, before officially opening the competitive season on Oct. 12 at Indiana State.
