NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team learned of its 18-game Missouri Valley Conference schedule, the league announced Tuesday. Start times can be found on the team's schedule page and games will primarily be played Fridays and Sundays.
The Redbirds open conference play Friday, Jan. 4, when they welcome UNI to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena, which will be the program's 11th-straight year they open the Valley season at home. The team will close out the weekend with defending conference champion Drake on Sunday, Jan. 6.
The Redbirds then hit the road for contests at Indiana State (Jan. 11), who recently welcomed Vicki Hall as the new head coach, and will finish the weekend at Evansville (Jan. 13).
The following weekend Illinois State returns for a three-game homestand inside Redbird Arena, as they host Southern Illinois (Jan. 18), Missouri State (Jan. 20) and I-74 rival Bradley (Jan.26).
February begins with a short road trip to Loyola Chicago on Friday, Feb. 1, followed by a stop at Valparaiso (Feb.3), to conclude the first half of the conference schedule, before playing their return games against Missouri State (Feb. 15) and Southern Illinois (Feb.17).
The Redbirds compete at Bradley for the I-74 Rivalry Series on Sunday, Feb. 24 and host Loyola Chicago (Feb.28) to close out the month.
The final home game of the season is slated for Sunday, March 3 as the team hosts Valparaiso for a senior day celebration, honoring Katrina Beck, Simone Goods and Viria Livingston.
The Redbirds close out the regular season with stops at Drake (March 7) and UNI (March 9), before heading to the Valley tournament the following week. For the fourth-consecutive season, the MVC Tournament will be held in Moline, Illinois, inside the iWireless Center, March 14-17.
