NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State kicks off game two of the 2018 campaign Saturday against Eastern Illinois in the annual Mid-America Classic. Head coach Brock Spack will preview the matchup against the Panthers Thursday at The Brock Spack Show, presented by Bud Light, live from Schooners in Bloomington beginning at 6 p.m.
Ranked No. 19 in both the STATS FCS Top-25 and the AFCA Coaches polls, The Redbirds (1-0) square off against the Panthers (0-1) for the 107th time, with ISU leading the EIU 55-42-9 in the all-time series. The Redbirds are coming off a 46-0 shutout win over Saint Xavier last Saturday, while the Panthers head to Hancock Stadium after dropping a 55-20 decision to SEC opponent Arkansas last week.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz and welcome senior running back Nick Kielbasa to the show as this week's player guest. The Huntley, Illinois, native was selected as a captain by his teammates prior to the season and scored his first career touchdown late in the win against Saint Xavier.Â
