NORMAL, Ill. –The Illinois State gymnastics team travels to Ames, Iowa, to take on Iowa State. The meet against the Cyclones will be on Friday, Jan. 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.

"We are looking forward to competing against Iowa State on Friday. Our team has worked hard on polishing up their routines this week and are excited to show those improvements. Our main goal is to prove just how good of a team we are by remaining confident from the first routine through the last routine of the meet."
Against Iowa State:
The Redbirds competed in a tri-meet against Iowa State and Lindenwood on Feb. 25, 2018… The Cyclones won the meet with a score of 196.450, followed by the Lions with a score of 195.175 and the Redbirds placed third with score of 193.050…The Redbirds competed against Iowa State and Gustavus Adophus on Feb. 17, 2017… The Cyclones won the meet with a score of 195.625, followed by the Redbirds with a 192.700, and Gustavus Adolphus was third with a score of 186.275.

This past week the Redbirds were defeated by Central Michigan 195.275-190.050 at McGuirk Arena… Senior Meredith LaRoche placed first in vault with a score of 9.775… Freshman Mia Quigg scored a career best against the Chippewas on beam with a 9.750… The meet against Iowa State is the final meet on the road for ISU to start the season, before the Redbirds host their first home meet at Horton Field House on Jan. 25 against Southeast Missouri.
