NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's tennis team will head to Waterloo, Iowa, to participate in the MVC Individual Championships this weekend. Play will start on Friday, October 4, and will go to Sunday, October 6.
The Redbirds will play against Bradley, Valparaiso, Drake, Missouri State, UNI, and Stony Brook in a bracket style tournament, with singles and doubles brackets.
Last year at the MVC Individual Championships, multiple Redbirds did well in their brackets, with Estelle Vanthier winning her flight. Sophomore Tara Damnjanovic, junior Laura Fitzgerald and graduated senior Jana Kustkova each took home third place in their respective brackets as well.
"The team has put a lot of hard work into practice and matches over the past few weeks, so they are well prepared going into the MVC tournament," grad assistant Danielle Wagland expressed. "This is our focal point for the fall schedule and I'm excited to watch them compete, and hopefully win some individual titles."
