BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Show, featuring Illinois State women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Gillespie previews the Hoops in the Heartland Tournament.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior forward Simone Goods. The women's team clinched the No. 4-seed, downing UNI on Sunday 54-53. The Redbirds (18-11, 11-7) will travel to the Quad Cities for a Friday afternoon matchup against I-74 rival, Bradley, with tip-off set for 2:30 p.m.
Goods has been named MVC Player of the Week two times this season and is averaging a team-best 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds. The Omaha, Nebraska, native has been a consistent threat from the floor all season, sitting 35th nationally and second in the conference for field goal percentage (.540). Goods surpassed her personal best in points and rebounds this season, tallying 30 points in wins over Saint Louis and Valparaiso, and grabbed 15 boards in game against Loyola Chicago.
