DADE CITY, Fla. – The Illinois State women's golf team completed two rounds of play at the par-71, 6056 yard Spring Break Shootout. The team's two round score is 606 (304-302).
The team sits in 14th place going into the final round on Tuesday. Topping the 15-team field is Troy with a two-round score of 571.
Caitlin Sims led the way for the Redbirds in the first two rounds. The senior carded three birdies on the back nine of the first round to earn a 1-over-par 72. Sims' score after day one is 146 (72-74). Junior Becca Black played 2-over-par in the first round and 4-over-par in the next. After two rounds, the junior's score is 148.
Morgan Savage carded two birdies over two rounds. The junior played 4-over-par in the second round to gain a score of 154 (79-75). Sophomore Tatum King played 158 (80-78) on day one. King carded three birdies over the day.
Individual player Emma Sutton's went 4-over-par in the first round and carded three birdies over the day. The sophomore's score after day one is 155 (75-80). Junior Paige Seiser played 159 (80-79) over two rounds and sunk one birdie.
The Redbirds tee-off for round three of the Spring Break Shootout at 8:30 a.m. EST.
