NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State baseball will play host to Northern Illinois on Tuesday, April 23 at Duffy Bass Field in Normal with the first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
Illinois State Redbirds (25-15, 8-1 MVC)
The Redbirds have won four games in a row, and eight of their last nine games including six straight conference wins after a weekend sweep over Southern Illinois. The Redbirds are ranked 15th in the nation in hits (421) and also rank 35th nationally in batting average (.294).
Northern Illinois Huskies (12-27, 8-7 MAC)
Northern Illinois comes into the mid-week contest with a series win over MAC-foe Kent State, as the Huskies took two of three games in the series. Northern Illinois is ranked 80th in the country in stolen bases (49) and 94th in stolen bases per game (1.26).
