ST. LOUIS – Senior Veronika Golanova and Freshman Tara Damnjanovic snagged the MVC Doubles Team of the Week for their performance against UNI and Drake this past weekend that helped the 'Birds clinch the MVC regular season title.
The senior-sophomore duo took down UNI's Lynch/Toledo 6-2 at the No. 1 spot on Saturday, April 20 and they defeated Drake's Palumbo/Walczak to help the 'Birds take down the Bulldogs, on Sunday, April 21.
The pair went 4-1 in MVC play this season, and this is the second time that the partners have earned the doubles team of the week, the first being after their performance against IUPUI.
