Women’s Basketball Adds Two Redbirds to the Roster

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball program received National Letters of Intent from transfers Juliunn Redmond and Terrion Moore late Sunday night, Coach Gillespie announced.

The newest Redbirds are (listed alphabetically):

Terrion Moore | Guard | 5-8 | Kansas City, Kan. | University of Arkansas Little Rock

  • Two year starter for Little Rock
  • Won the Sun Belt Conference and made the NCAA Tournament in both seasons
  • Averaged 8.1 points per game, while shooting 44 percent from the floor
  • Led her team in steals per game as a sophomore with 1.6
  • Averaged 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game
  • Went to Leavenworth High School in Kansas where she won two Class 5A State Championships
  • Was named 1st Team All-State in high school in 2016 and 2017

Gillespie on Moore: "Terrion is a natural born leader who will infuse her toughness and NCAA tourney experience into our program. She is a winner, having won championships at every level she's competed at. She is a dynamic guard who can create off the dribble for herself and others offensively. We are looking forward to elevating her game to another level in the year she sits out with us."

Juliunn Redmond | Guard | 5-11 | Chicago, Ill. | Tallahassee Community College

  • NJCAA 1st Team All-American
  • 2019 Panhandle Conference Player of the Year
  • Led her team to a 25-5 record and ended the season ranked 6th in the Country
  • Averaged 16.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game
  • Led her team to a NJCAA National Championship in the 2017-18 season
  • Graduated from John Marshall High School, where she played for legendary coach, Dorthy Gaters
  • Was named 3A All-State
  • Played in Redbird Arena for the IHSA Tournament and finished third
  • Won the Chicago City Championship her senior season

Gillespie on Redmond: "As talented as JuJu is athletically on the floor, her intangibles may be even more valuable. She is a fierce competitor and a tremendous leader who has won at the highest level in both high school and junior college. JuJu is a versatile wing, who has proven to be a high level playmaker on both ends of court. She is someone who will be able to make an instant impact for our team."
